The original main part of the building was built in 1900 as a dwelling house. It was bought by the Seventh-Day Adventist church in the mid 1960’s, after being a Hotel for a short time, to be used as a Residential Home and named Peacehaven. Although the church sold Peacehaven in 1993, it continued to be used as a Care Home. Two extensions have been added to the original building, a single storey nine bedroom extension was added to the left of the original building in approximately 1998, and then a four bedroom single storey extension was added to the right of the original building in approximately 2003.

In the mid 1990’s, Peacehaven’s garden appeared on BBC’s Beechgrove Garden and a “make-over” was carried out. The Beechgrove Garden returned five years later and presented the Home with a wooden gazebo which is still in use today.

Since early 2008 when Rosturk House Ltd purchased Peacehaven, there have been extensive refurbishments to all areas of the building. The kitchen was moved to create a better area to prepare meals and two further bedrooms were created from the previous kitchen. The dining room and lounge were moved to maximise the space available and enhance the view of the beautiful gardens from the sitting areas. All of the bedrooms have been modernised and many now have en-suite shower facilities.
